How do campaigns work?

You need a clear campaign strategy to design and run effective sampling campaigns.

You will create and manage sampling campaigns in Sampling Administration. Configuring a campaign defines:

  • Which product samples to offer.
  • Which members you want to review samples.
  • How you will communicate with members.
  • When and how long the campaign will run.

Who are my members?

The members of your sampling community are your product advocates. A good member community includes people across a broad range of demographics, lifestyles, and personal interests to provide the best coverage for your product range.

Managing your member community

You will manage your member community in Sampling Administration. Your member community may include many thousands of individuals, so most tasks are performed by identifying groups of members, rather than performing individual actions on each one. For example, you can add members to your community by importing them in batches, and create member segments by filtering the entire community with specific criteria.

Registration survey

When a new member registers to join your sampling community, they complete a survey about their demography, lifestyle, and personal interests. This information enables you to identify members in your community that you can target with products that you think they’ll like in your campaigns.

You’ll use registration survey data when creating member segments, applying member tags, and creating campaigns.

Work with your Bazaarvoice Account Manager to define an effective member registration survey. The better you know your members, the more accurate your campaign targeting will be.

In addition to demographic questions, typical registration survey questions might include:

  • What type of property do you live in?
  • Do you have a garden?
  • Who lives in your household?
  • Do you have any children?
  • Do you own a car?
  • How often do you go on vacation?
  • What are your interests? Several answers might be available to select, such as: music, fitness, film, and so on.
