Manage vendors and opportunities
Member Support Account Administrator
You can create a multi-vendor campaign by using product samples from multiple vendors in your sampling program. For example, you can add a range of clothing from different vendors you would like sampling community members to try.
Multi-vendor campaigns can take place across departments or product lines, and give you greater visibility across your sampling program. When you add a vendor to your sampling program, you’re enabling that vendor to ship product samples to your sampling community.

Column | Description |
---|---|
Vendor name | Name of a vendor offering their products to your sampling community. |
Vendor ID | Unique vendor ID. |
Available units | Details how many available units a vendor has. |

Fulfillment email | Fulfillment contact’s email address. |
Create a vendor

- Enter the name of the vendor in the Vendor search field.
Note: If the vendor name you enter appears, use it. If you need to create a new vendor, change the existing vendor’s name to avoid creating duplicate vendors.
- Enter the vendor fulfillment contact’s first name and last name.
Note: The fulfillment contact manages the shipment of products from a warehouse to the member for a specific vendor company. They aren’t necessarily the person purchasing an opportunity.
- Enter the fulfillment contact’s email address.
- Select the fulfillment contact’s preferred language.
- Select Create vendor.
Edit a vendor
- Select the vendor you want to edit from the Vendor name column.
- Update the fulfillment contact’s first name, last name, email address, and preferred language as required.
- Select Save.
Manage opportunities
Opportunities consist of units that enable you to send product samples to your sampling community. A unit represents a single product sample you can offer to the sampling community.
Select the Opportunities tab to manage existing opportunities and create new ones. The table that appears contains information about your opportunities and the units they contain.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Opportunity reference | Name of an opportunity you've created. |
Remaining units | Number of units remaining in an opportunity. |
Purchased units | How many units you initially allocated to an opportunity. |
Expiration date | Date an opportunity expires and you can no longer use it. |
Status | Status of an opportunity.
|
Purchaser name | Name of the purchaser of an opportunity.
Note: You don’t need to be the purchaser to view this screen.
|
Find opportunities
To find opportunities, use either of these methods:
- Status filter—Select a status, for example, Active. Repeat for each status you want to include. Select Apply and close to apply the filter.
- Search field—Search for opportunities by entering a complete or partial opportunity reference or purchaser name.
Create an opportunity
Use purchased units to create an opportunity.
To create an opportunity:
- Select Create opportunity.
- Enter an Opportunity reference to make your opportunity more recognizable.
Note: If Bazaarvoice is managing your opportunity, we will use your Salesforce opportunity reference.
- Enter the number of units you want to add to the opportunity.
- Enter an expiration date for the opportunity.
- Add the first name, last name, and email address of the purchaser. The purchaser is not necessarily the same person as the fulfillment contact.
- Select the checkbox to show you understand you’re creating an opportunity for the selected vendor.
- Select Create opportunity. The opportunity you’ve created will appear in the table.
Edit an opportunity
- Ensure the figure in the Remaining units column matches the figure in the Purchased units column.
- Select the opportunity from the Opportunity reference column.
- If no units have been spent for the opportunity, update the opportunity reference, the number of units you want to add to this opportunity, the expiration date, and the purchaser details as required.
- Select Save.
View an opportunity
To view details for the opportunity, select it from the Opportunity reference column. These details now include the number of spent and remaining units, purchase date, and status.
You can edit only the expiration date for an opportunity if even one unit has been spent or the opportunity has expired.
Add opportunities to campaigns
- From the navigation bar, select Product Sampling > Sampling Administration > Campaigns.
- Create a new campaign or select a Draft campaign from the Campaign name column of the table that appears.
Note: You can modify your campaign only if it’s still in Draft status.
- If you haven’t added any products to your campaign, select Add products. If you have, select Edit products.
- Select Add opportunities.
Note: Before adding an opportunity, ensure you’ve added at least one product to your campaign.
- In the Opportunities search field, begin entering the opportunity reference or purchaser name linked to the opportunity you want to include in your campaign. When you’ve typed four letters, a list of suggestions appears.
- Select all the opportunities you want to include in your campaign.
Note: If the opportunities you select don’t have enough units for your campaign, use another opportunity to reach this total.
- Select Add opportunities. The opportunities then appear in the Products row.
Tip: Remove an opportunity by selecting from the Remove column.
- Select Done.
