The member community is the basis of your sampling program. Community members are the shoppers who write reviews based on the samples they receive. When you define your community, you identify your most passionate consumers and enable them to be the voice of your brand by creating content for your products.

In Sampling Administration, you can curate your member community by inviting members, creating member segments for sampling campaigns, and performing other member management tasks.

View members

Community Manager Member Support Account Administrator

You can view your member community in the Members tab. This is where you can see all your members at all stages of participation in the community. The stages of sampling membership are called states, and you can select the tabs to see a list of members in each state as well as any member segments you have saved.

Member states Description
Active Members who have fully registered using the Sampling app, usually by responding to the Invitation to Sample email. Active members can participate in offers and write reviews. Only Active members can be added to a member segment in a campaign.
Invited Members who have been sent an invitation to join your sampling community but haven't registered yet. You can't include Invited members in offers until they have registered and become Active members.
Deactivated Members who have been removed from Sampling, because they've either requested to leave your sampling community, or if they've breached community rules. Deactivated members won't be able to sign in or participate in future sampling campaigns unless they're reactivated.

Review rate

A member’s review rate is a percentage ratio of the products they have reviewed compared with the products they have received. For example, a ‘top reviewer’ in your member community might have reviewed 36 out of the 40 products they have received, giving them a review rate of 90%. Identifying top reviewers maximises the chances of generating reviews for every product sent.

A member segment is a group of people that you want to target with your product. You decide who to include in the segment by filtering the community with demographic and personal interest criteria. Segments can be used for just one campaign, or saved to be used for multiple campaigns.
