Welcome! Analytics integration provides valuable information about how your visitors interact with Bazaarvoice-hosted user-generated content (UGC). For example, analytics provide valuable insights into:

  • Conversion rates
  • Average order value
  • Cart abandonment rate
  • New and repeat buyer percentages
  • Percent of visits that request a quote

Bazaarvoice offers it’s own analytics tool named BV Pixel. There is some overlap between what third-party web analytics and BV Pixel analytics are tracking.

Third-party analytics (Google, Adobe, IBM)

Analytics integration is the main way to track the performance of your Product Ratings & Reviews (PRR) solution using third-party web analytic providers such as:

Analytics help you measure the return on investment (ROI) of your Bazaarvoice PRR solutions, all for free.

Note: Bazaarvoice offers it's own analytics tool named BV Pixel. There is some overlap between what third-party web analytics and BV Pixel are tracking.

Analytics integration was formerly known as Social Commerce Insights (SCI).

How third-party analytics integrations work

Third-party analytics integrations leverage the Bazaarvoice code already on your site to gather visitor information. When visitors click or interact with Bazaarvoice user-generated content, the PRR platform injects vendor-specific JavaScript tags that relay visitor interaction data to the appropriate third-party analytics integration.

Note: Third-party analytics integrations cannot track visitors who just read UGC. Visitors must explicitly interact with content by clicking it. Consequently, third-party analytics integration underestimates the percentage of visitors who use UGC as well as the overall impact of UGC on your site.

The following table identifies the tagging (tracking), segmentation (reporting), and categorization methods for each third-party analytics provider.

Vendor Tagging Method Segmentation Method Categorization Method
Tagging indicates a user has clicked a Bazaarvoice-hosted link or a tab that contains Bazaarvoice content. Segment types that you apply to your report to identify visitors who reach or interact with Bazaarvoice content. Methods for categorizing tag values as human-readable elements.
Google Analytics Event tracking Advanced segments Category, Action, and Label event-tracking reports
Adobe Analytics eVar conversion variables and success events via custom link tracking DataWarehouse, ASI Slot, or Discover SAINT classification table
IBM Analytics Custom page-view tags Report segments Category Definition File (CDF)
