Configuration hub training
This topic provides quick access to all of the configuration hub training videos available on the knowledge base. Expand a section to view videos.
Note: The following videos are outdated and will soon be replaced with updated versions.
This video shows you how to access the configuration hub from the Bazaarvoice Portal.
To access Configuration:
- Sign in to the Bazaarvoice Portal .
- From the upper-right corner, select the settings icon .
- Select Configuration.
- Select the instance and Go to Configuration. The Site Manager appears, listing the available deployment zones and implementations.
- From the Implementations section, select Edit next to the implementation you want to configure.
This video provides an overview of the buttons at the top of the configuration hub.
To create an implementation, you must copy and modify an existing implementation. This video shows you how to do this.
To create a new implementation by copying one:
- On the Site Manager page, select Tools > Copy next to the implementation you want to duplicate.
- Specify a name.
- Select Edit to configure the new implementation.
This video shows you how to deploy an implementation to the staging environment and then publish the implementation to the production environment.
- Find the implementation in the Implementations section of the Site Manager page and then select Deploy.
- On the Deploy Step 1 of 3 dialog, select Next to deploy the implementation to Staging.
- On the Deploy Step 2 of 3 dialog, review the changes that were made to the implementation since it was last deployed to Staging.
- Select Next.
- On the Deploy Step 3 of 3 dialog, select Deploy.
- In the Deployment Zones section of the page, select the publish button () between Staging and Production.
- Repeat steps 3-5 to deploy to Production.

The Copy Editor page enables you to customize text and labels that are displayed alongside Bazaarvoice content on your site. This video shows you how to access and use the Copy Editor.
To use the Copy Editor:
- Select the Tools drop-down list to jump to a section.
- Enable the translation option.
- Select Where is this to preview the copy on a page or form.
The Ratings & Reviews submission form is the interface that contributors use to rate and review products and services. This section provides several videos that demonstrate how to use the Submission Form Editor.

Applying a submission form to product categories and subcategories
This video shows you how to select the product category or subcategory that will use the submission form you want to modify.
To select a product category and subcategory:
- Select All Products to apply questions across all products
- Select one or more categories to apply questions to only the selected category or categories.
- Find specific categories using the search function.
- Select Refresh when the categories have been updated.

Overview of submission form questions
This video provides an overview of the question categories that are available to add to a submission form.
These categories are available:
- Base review questions
- Base user info
- People
- Ratings
- Product
- Net promoter score

Global settings for submission form questions
This video provides an overview of the settings that can be configured and applied to all questions on a submission form.
- Required—For all questions, requires contributors to respond to the question. Do not select this option if you use data injection to populate the answer.
- Hide on display—For all questions, prevents the answer from displaying on the published review.
- Filterable—For people and product questions, enables a contributor to filter reviews based on the values you set.
- Hide on submission—For people and product questions, prevents the answer from displaying on the submission form. Answers are populated using data injection.
- Auto-populate—For people questions, automatically populates fields of the submission form if the contributor previously provided the same information on your site. Deselect Required if you select the Auto-populate option. Contact your Bazaarvoice Implementation Engineer if you want to enable this option.
- Subject ID required—For people and product questions, requires the product ID to be injected into the review submission.
- Select Save Changes.

Overview of the Email Template Editor
This video shows you how to use the Email Template Editor page.
To use the Email Templates page:
- In the Email Templates Editor List section, select Edit to open the email template editor for an email type.
- Preview the email message that will be sent based on the template.
- Edit the copy that is used in the body of the email message.
- If you need more flexibility, enable the custom HTML template (instead of using the standard template).

Editing a standard email template
If you choose to use a standard template, this video shows you how to customize it.
To customize one of the standard templates:
- Add a logo.
- Edit the text used in the template.
- Insert fields, which are similar to variables, such as company name or product name.
- Insert links.

Creating a custom email template
This video shows you how to create a new template and configure its content.
To create a custom template:
- In the Email Templates Editor List section, select Edit to open the email template editor for an email type.
- Enable the custom template.
- Download the template, modify it, and then upload the new template (HTML).
- View the guidelines as needed.
This video shows you how to create a response-based or token-based badge.
To add a new badge:
- Select Add a new badge and then select a question from your submission form.
- Select the answer that causes the badge to be assigned to the contributor or review.
- Specify an alternative or replacement text for the image that is used for the badge.
- Upload a custom image that is displayed with the contributor or review after the badge is assigned.
- Describe why this badge is applied to the contributor or review. This text will appear in a tooltip on hover.
This video shows you the various places in the configuration hub where you can select a locale before making changes. The changes are applied to the selected locale's implementation only.
You can select a locale on these pages:
- Submission Form Editor—Selected locale applies to all questions
- Copy Editor—Selected locale applies to all fields
- Badge Editor—Selected locale applies to all badges
- Email Templates—Selected locale applies to all email copy fields and footer
