Translated Reviews allows you to share reviews from one of your websites to another in a different locale. It then enables consumers to translate that content into their native language on-demand.

Translated Reviews helps you make reviews accessible across multiple languages, extending the reach of your reviews.

For example, imagine you have a well-established site in US English (en-US), and you have another site in French (fr-FR). You have five times the number of English reviews for a particular product compared to the number of French reviews for the same product. However, your French site only displays reviews collected in French, and the English reviews are just as relevant as the French reviews. Translated Reviews would enable you to display the English reviews on your French site in the site’s native language.

How it looks on your website

When consumers click the Translate with Google button below a review that is not in the site’s language, the site displays a translated title and review. After a review has been translated, a consumer can click again to show the review text in its original language.

Translation attribution requirements

Translated Reviews is powered by the Google Cloud Translation API . Use of this API is governed by Google’s Terms of Service , which requires that you adhere to certain guidelines on layout, Google attribution, and branding on your site. In particular:

  • The “powered by Google Translate” graphic must always be displayed adjacent any translation results. When a consumer clicks the Translate with Google button to show a translated review, Bazaarvoice will display this image below the translated review text: Google attribution
  • If you display the results of the Translation API to your end users without modification, you must make the following disclaimer available on your website or in your app:
THIS SERVICE MAY CONTAIN TRANSLATIONS POWERED BY GOOGLE. GOOGLE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATED TO THE TRANSLATIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

Consumers can click the disclaimer button below the translated review to read this disclaimer.
